I'm a voracious listener- meaning, not a day goes by that I'm not listening to an audiobook or podcast. There have been some really wonderful listens this year. Listens that have given me a clarity, ideas, and enthusiasm to propel my business forward. I'm sharing my top 5 books and podcasts from this year.
1.) The Marie Forleo Show (podcast): Episode 197 with Seth Godin "Struggling to Find Marketing Strategies That Work? Seth Godin Can Help."
His book "This Is Marketing" was just released and I can't wait to listen, but this podcast interview hits some really thought provoking topics from the book that are especially great for niche businesses. #SethGodin #ThisIsMarketing #Bschool #MarieForleo
2.) You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero (book)
Her writing style is dynamic. Her other hit "You Are a Badass" is equally legit, but I found this follow up to be especially eye opening for me. This book allowed me to create an empowering money story that I still think about daily. #JenSincero #YouAreABadass
3.) Crushing It by Gary Vaynerchuk (book)
How could you not be motivated by Gary Vee? At first, I found him to be too intense to to listen to on IG and YouTube. His book/audiobook, though, is much easier for me to listen to. He is someone you should be listening to if you want a business that stays current. #CrushingIt #GaryVee
4.) NPR's How I Built This (podcast): "Whole Foods Market: John Mackey"
There are very few things I love more than Whole Foods. To me, it represents ideals, quality, passion, and fun. All of the things I strive to maintain in my business. John Mackey is a great example of a stand up entrepreneur who has made a huge impact, mindfully. #WholeFoods #JohnMackey
5.) Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis (book)
Was hesitant to read this because I honestly thought it was a religious book, but it turned out to be a book about entrepreneurship. It's a great read if you have your own business and a family. Also a great read if you like to laugh. #GirlWashYourFace #RachelHollis
Out of the hundreds of hours of content I listened to this year, these are my top recommendations for anyone who owns their own business or is thinking of starting one. I hope you take a listen and get some hot truths!
